Pete Marketos was ranked for the fourth consecutive year for Litigation: General Commercial in Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth & Surrounds). Pete co-founded the firm in 2011 two years after making partner at Haynes Boone, and in the years since has tried cases resulting in some of the largest plaintiffs’ commercial wins in the nation – including a $138 million fraud verdict in South Texas that was, for most of 2013, the largest in the U.S. Most recently, he served as lead trial counsel in a False Claims Act case that produced a $1.64 billion judgment, the largest in FCA history.
Joel Reese earned his first individual Chambers ranking in Litigation: General Commercial in Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth & Surrounds). Joel has been managing partner since the firm’s founding in 2011, when he left a partner position at Winstead to launch the firm. He is known for handling high-stakes commercial disputes with lean teams and intense preparation – including a recent case against Energy Transfer where he personally handled 16 depositions, all briefing, and every hearing as sole lead counsel, ultimately securing a $112 million partial summary judgment and a favorable pre-trial settlement.
Andrew Wirmani is newly ranked for Litigation: White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations – a second practice area recognition for a firm of our size. A former federal prosecutor, Andrew joined Reese Marketos in 2021 and within two months helped the firm win a $36 million relators-side False Claims Act jury verdict in Alabama federal court. He has since tried cases in federal courts across the country, including delivering the opening statement in the Penelow v. Janssen trial that produced the largest FCA judgment in U.S. history. For his white-collar clients, Andrew brings a former prosecutor’s instinct for how the government builds a case – and a trial lawyer’s ability to take it apart.
