Joel Reese and Leslie Chaggaris represented oil logistics company Jamex Marketing, LLC, in related lawsuits against Shell Trading (US) Company and Whiting Petroleum Corporation. Jamex alleged tortious interference and breach of contract claims relating to a $50 million Master Crude Purchase and Sale Agreement between Jamex and Shell, which Shell terminated within the first year of a 7-year term. Jamex claimed that Whiting and Shell conspired to wrongfully terminate the contract so that Whiting could receive the revenue that Jamex should have received.
Shell paid $13.85 million to Jamex settle all claims against Shell and Whiting. Jamex received approximately $8,060,000 net of attorneys’ fees and expenses.
