Four partners at Reese Marketos – Joel Reese, Andrew Wirmani, Pete Marketos, and Josh Russ – have been named to Law360’s 2025 MVP list, which recognizes standout attorneys nationwide for their extraordinary achievements over the past year.
Law360 selected its MVPs after reviewing nearly 900 submissions, ultimately honoring 160 attorneys from 76 firms across 35 practice areas.
RM’s 2025 MVPs are:
Pete Marketos and Josh Russ – Trials: Recognized for co-leading the trial team in six-week jury trial that resulted in a $1.64 billion False Claims Act final judgment against Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Janssen Products, driven by their pivotal witness examinations and post-trial advocacy that resulted in substantial per-claim penalties. They were also instrumental in the firm’s $100 million eve-of-trial FCA settlement with PharMerica and in winning a $51.98 million trial judgment for Cardinal Midstream II, LLC against Energy Transfer.
Andrew Wirmani – Healthcare: Honored for his central role in achieving the FCA verdict and $1.64 billion final judgment against Janssen for defrauding Medicare and Medicaid; for helping secure the $100 million PharMerica settlement – another Medicare-fraud FCA case; and for his success in obtaining a favorable plea resolution in a major laboratory fraud prosecution, along with a complete defense win and seven-figure counterclaim recovery in a complex healthcare arbitration.
Joel Reese – Energy: Recognized for leading Cardinal Midstream’s legal team through a multi-week trial resulting in a $51.98 million judgment against Energy Transfer, and for his leadership in a separate Energy Transfer case that ended in an eve-of-trial settlement for Culberson Midstream LLC, following a $112 million summary judgment win and a precedent-setting jurisdictional ruling in the Texas Business Court.
